What a deceiving name, Green Tuna Fruit. It is hard to know what to expect of a food that boasts a name like that. The green tuna fruit is the heart of the cactus and is very popular within the Mexican culture.
Green tuna fruit has the texture of an over-ripe watermelon, but not quite as sweet.
There are ton of seeds that are said to be edible. In fact, they have a saying in Mexico "las gallinas comen piedritas, los mexicanos comen tunas." Translated, it means, hens eat little rocks [for their digestion], Mexicans eat tunas."
The experiencing of eating Green Tuna Fruit was similar to the one I had while eating jelly fish…not bad, not good, happy I tried it, but probably don't need to eat it again.

Now do you have to eat the entire fruit or is a couple of bites sufficient to count?
A couple of bites is good enough for me, in most cases, to get the gist of the food (& the level of yuckiness that is going to be involved).
I guess that would never fly if I was competing on Survivor
